Kiley's Grill, Chandler, AZ

This evening we were excited to try some place new and headed to Kiley's Grill. It is located on Alma School, north of Warner Road, south of Elliot Road- it used to be Garcia's. I had not heard anything about them but they seemed like a neat place to go with the family.

Walking up to the front door, I was worried this was not a place to take children. It appeard more of a bar than a restaurant. Walking in, the hostess was in a black dress- not suitable for a family restaurant but made to look like an upscale restaurant. The vibe of the place was hard to read- not sure if it was bar, family, adult, not sure.

Dinner salads were served along with garlic bread and marinara. We weren't sure if it was the marinara or the bread but something had too much spice that stuck in your throat long after the food was eaten. K ordered the kid's chicken fingers with curly fries which were a hit. B had the kid's hot dog sliders with curly fries, another hit. M ordered a full rack of baby back ribs that was accompanied with cole slaw, cauliflower and curly fries. Per M's review, his meal "overall was okay". M says the ribs were cooked evenly but the sauce lacked depth in taste. L ordered the Parmesan Crusted Chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and cauliflower. The chicken flavor was bland and the mashed potatoes were not only chunky but lacked "garlic" flavor. They were not tasty in my opinion. The dinner salads and cauliflower were the only things that really caught my attention but the cauliflower had to be eaten sparingly. It had unique flavoring with a variety of spices.

Cost for a family of 4: approximately $47.00
Overall grade: C
